Michael Woods is a Fingerpicking, Ragtime, Bottleneck & Blues guitarist who has been performing for about 33 years, inspired by the great country blues guitarists like Blind Blake, Blind Boy Fuller & Rev. Gary Davis.

Attending a Malpractice gig is like watching Dr Feelgood and Lee Brilleaux at their peak. The raw energy that comes from the stage is infectious and has any crowd rocking from the word go and through to the very last encore.

He gigs constantly in pubs, clubs and at festivals, and support slots for acts such as Skerryvore, Chris Helme, Ewan McLennan, and The Red Dirt Skinners are a testimony to the high regard in which he is held on the roots music scene.

The band plays a mixture of finely honed original songs alongside a range of classic blues and rock covers from the likes of Rory Gallagher and Jimi Hendrix to some less likely selections from Steve Earle and Robin Trower.

Ritchie Dave Porter is a blues-rock guitarist from Birmingham who tells us on his liner notes that: 'Rocking the Blues' is the expression of my soul through the guitar', and also that: 'Every note is played with emotion'.

The Tones were formed mid-2018 after members had worked with each other in various local outfits throughout the years but then decided to form and play the music they wanted to play.
